 A FRESH START...

First meeting of the year and what a turnout - 64 happy, exuberant fellow quilt addicts - whoops - I mean guild members. We had an overview of the coming year, some catching up and a great show and tell. And here we go....

Janet M. led us off tonight with her completed and colourful table topper from last year's Villa Madonna retreat.

Lyn F. bought this kit and although she wasn't impressed by it's colours, her husband was and laid claim to it.

Lyn made these 3D cubes for her chair. Wonderfully bright. Both of Lyn's quilts were quilted by Gwenda M.

Kathy B. made this quilt for her son and had it quilted with a dragonfly pattern. He's sure to be impressed.

Peggy H. showed us a bright and happy quilt made by her 9 year old granddaughter that included a snake winding all the way down. Great work and maybe a future guild member.

Peggy is trying something new - a jacket! Now quilted, it will be cut out and sewn. We are anxious to see the result.

Peggy has been doing a lot of driving around Newfoundland. To pass the time during her car ride she made yoyos that she turned into hot pads.

Janet S. is four patching in a controlled scrappy way. Janet is a beautiful quilter.

Janet continued being creative with April Cornell fabrics. Love the piano key border. Again, she quilted it herself.

Donna C. made this kid's quilt and it will be taking a little piece of Canada all the way to Australia. Although Donna didn't have long to make this quilt, I'm sure it will be a hit upon arrival.

The back of Donna's quilt.

Dorothy J. is getting scrappy - no, not her mood - her quilting style. But it is a controlled scrappy.
Following is the back of Dorothy's quilt that she quilted herself.

Dorothy is still scrappy! What a great use for the little pieces - all done in 4 patches.  And following is Dorothy's back that she quilted herself.

Dorothy isn't scrappy anymore. This sweet quilt exhibit's Dorothy's embroidery skills. Dorothy also quilted this one herself.

Bertha M. has not been idle this summer and brought us her Dazzling Stars in fall colours. Joan B. quilted Bertha's quilt.

Bertha also made this sweet baby quilt.

Heather O. showed us her gorgeous table runner for a very long table. Awesome applique work.

Gloria P. started this as a Stack n Whack and went to Plan B and made pinwheels. The original print was a gradient fabric of peacock feathers.  Following is the back of Gloria's quilt that she quilted herself.  Also is a closeup of the fabric.

Joyce N.'s very creative "South Seas" quilt that included fabrics she had received from New Zealand. Joyce quilted it herself.
