February's Presentation and Show & Tell

This month saw a very interesting presentation on purses and bags made by Angela Lawson-Penney.  Angela is a member of the Fredericton Quilt Guild and the Cotton Mill Quilt Guild and tonight she explained her process for purse and bag making that included many beautiful samples.  Angela uses many conventional and unconventional materials in her process.  Following are examples of Angela's work as well as our monthly Show & Tell.

And now for Show & Tell

June G.'s Birds, Blossoms & Baskets

Annette R.'s Children's Quilts - Froggies Galore

Annette R.'s All Stacked Up in beautiful blues

Betty V. showed us her sweet butterfly bag and purses.  Betty made the butterflies on her bag from left over triangles from other quilts.

Betty also made several bird placemats as Christmas gifts.  The above are the ones she kept for her family.  She used patterns found in a book in our library.

Kim D made this pinwheel quilt for a 14 year old young fellow as a replacement for the baby quilt she made him many years ago.

Kim also made the above two versions of an I Spy quilt.

Marg R. just finished her lovely springy lemon runner that she quilted herself.  She also has a great start on another lemon centre piece below.

Cecile G.'s beauty -  Pumpkin Patch & Log Cabin quilt.  Joyce N. did the quilting shown below.

Janet S.'s baby quilt all ready for quilting.

Joyce N.'s Stack n Whack quilt.  Joyce received the center pieces and it was up to her to figure it out - just another day and challenge for Joyce.

Joyce's Clam Shell String Quilt.  Joyce appliqued the black edging around the clams.
