A Great Program and Lots of Show & Tell

For those who missed our last meeting, you missed a great program.  A past member, Jennifer Speedy, shared a selection of her "little projects".  Jennifer loves applique and embellishments and it showed in her collection.  Many thanks to Jennifer for bringing us such a large selection of her artistic works - so creative. The following photos show just a few of the projects.

Off to grandmother's house - Jennifer created this wall hanging from a photo of her grandmother's house in the UK.

And now on to our show & tell for October.  All these quilts are just beautiful and show such creativity and talent.  Hats off to all our members!

This first one is Peggy H.'s 10 year old granddaughter's first quilt. What a talented  young lady - just like her grandmother.

Joyce N.'s artistic talents have shone again in this beautiful heron

Janet S. has summer blooms everywhere over the next two quilts.  Janet's appliques are always so pretty.

Dorothy J. has gone off to sea - love how the different blues give the water motion.

Elaine S.'s Tortilla Quilt is being donated to the Ferguson Foundation fund raiser.  It was quilted by Andrea R..  Hope this beauty raises lots of money!

Charline W.'s did a lovely job on this quilt.  Her flying geese really make the panel pop

Betty V.'s pretty pastels - so summery.

Crumb quilts are so much fun.  Dora M. had the patience to do this blue beauty.

Bertha M. has done it again - another "big" quilt" and it's so pretty.

Cecile G. made this memory quilt for a friend from handkerchiefs, pillow cases, etc.  The owner must be so pleased with the result.

Joyce N. has unleashed her artistic talents with this eye catching wall hanging.  Although Joyce admits she does not like applique, she certainly has mastered the technique.

Cecile G. scrappy log cabin and pinwheels - so striking!

Cecile G. rescued this little baby quilt from a yard sale.  The appliqued animals are so sweet.  

Cecile isn't done yet - she created a beautiful Stack N Whack and has offered to run the course again if our members are interested.

Cecile also designed the following three quilt tops featuring poppies.  She intends to donate these to the Veterans' Hospital once completed.

We're Off and Running for 2022-23

First meeting of the year! Good turn out and a great show and tell. So much stunning work by so many talented ladies - can't wait to see what next month brings.

Joyce's Under the Sea colour wash - it takes time to see all the creatures incorporated into this engaging quilt.

Christine P.'s Airplane baby quilt.  Some little one will be lucky to receive such a sweet gift.

Linda W.,s "Painted Ladies" house quilt.  Look at the cute trim between the roofs and houses.  Love the colours.

Marie Lyne F.s Disappearing 9 Patch.  Great colour choices

Marie Lyne F's "Damn Quilt"  This project through no fault of her own gave her great grief but we are happy to report it's completed and absolutely lovely.  Great work!

Bonnie B.;s Halloween Table Toppers.  The photo didn't do the colours justice as they are much more striking.

Bonnie B.'s "Circle Back" quilt completed in time for her granddaughter's birthday.  Lucky girl to receive such an awesome gift.

Flo B.'s  "Summer Breezes" quilt in soft yellow s and blues.  This is being gifted to a recently arrived  Ukrainian family. - what an awesome gift.

Flo has also made many, many bowl cozies to support a pet charity - how thoughtful and caring

Betty V.'s Polar Bear baby quilt that she free motion quilted herself.  This is gorgeous!  Would make a great wall hanging as well.

Allison H.'s baby quilt in yellows and grays - so modern and fresh looking.

Dorothy J.s Carpenter's Wheel  that she both hand and machine quilted.  Great colour combination.

Marg R.;s Retreat Quilt in beautiful soft colours

Linda B.s "Gypsy Wife" quilt.  She long arm quilted it herself.  This is one you have to stop and really look to take in all the different blocks and colours - so pretty

Barb E. joined us as a guest last night and shared her very recently completed quilt.   Barb utilized many quilting techniques and many gifted fabrics to complete her project.  Very artistic.

We, the Keswick Ridge Quilters are happy to announce our fall 2022 Quilt show-

Quilting around the Clock!

 

Join us at the Burtts Corner Lions Club on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24th for a Quiltin' good time!

 

After browsing over 150 beautiful quilts and other items, join us for a light refreshment in the seating area.

 

If our quilts inspire you to make your own - we will have several vendors on site who will be happy to help you to get your next project going!   

 

If you just like to look and would rather someone else make it – then we have a member’s market where our own guild members will have some of their goods for sale. 

 

We will be selling tickets on a Quilt that our membership made collectively!

It is a beauty and would be perfect for just about any decor!

We are excited this year to host a ‘Bed turning’ presentation during the show where you will be shown a quilt and hear a little backstory about this quilt from one of our members!  Its sure to be a fun time!

Once again, our quilt show is being held at the Burtt’s Corner Lions Club Hall which is located at 42 Route 617 in Burtt’s Corner, NB.  

 

The quilt show venue, vendors and members market are all accessible!

 

There will be a $5.00 admission at the door.  The show is open from 10am to 8pm on Friday September 23 and from 10 to 4pm on Saturday September 24.

Burtt’s Corner is particularly beautiful this time of year – so come for a drive and enjoy the show!

 LAST GUILD MEETING OF THE YEAR

Last night saw the final meeting of this year - a social and short show and tell.  Hoping to see everyone back in September with loads of show and tell to share.

First up is Peggy L.'s Floral Log Cabin quilt.  What a beauty!

Peggy H. & Beryl S. created the next two lovely quilts for donation to the Tiny Homes Project.

The ladies used printed sheets for the backings.  Great idea and an awesome way to use up all our little pieces.

Cheery table runner kits were given to all the Mini Retreat participants.  Gloria P. and Bonnie B. have completed their project - all ready for summer.

Joyce N. has completed another fantastic colour wash project - all about under the sea.  She never fails to surprise us with all her innovative ways to combine fabrics.

And our final showing was belongs to Bertha M.  Bertha did hand embroidery in the centre and hand quilted this beauty.  The second shot is the back showing all her hand quilting.
