ELM CITY QUILTERS GUILD, FREDERICTON, N.B.

Wednesday, October 2, 2026

The program for the October meeting was presented by the very enthusiastic Emily Fong, a local pattern designer with many years experience working in the textiles industry. You may see her every so often up at the Quilting Shed! She was kind enough to share with us all her amazing patterns. She has created over the years, as well as gave us a sneak peek of the next pattern coming up for release sometime in the new year. Most (if not all) of Emily's patterns are available for purchase at the Quilting Shed.

As always, we had a very unique show and tell sharing beautiful quilty projects!

Emily’s latest release!

Emily’s newest project for 2027.

This is a quilt Cecile made using a combination of pieces people would give her over time and left over fabric from Days for Girls.

Christine started this quilted jacket 20 years ago but never finished it till now. This jacket features a different quilting technique on each section.

Janet loves sewing hexi’s, and decided to use them on this quilt. So cute!

Sandi created this quilt for her brother’s granddaughter, Annie. The center blocks were made by the late Linda Hubbard.

Sandi belonged to art group in Florida where she created this art quilt titled “Gifts from the Past”, featuring the Carleton Street Bridge. She used a leather jacket for bridge, hand painted scrapbook bars for the rivets, and used a unique series of techniques to bring this piece to life.

Sandi also created “Gifts from the Past II”, using a spiral theme that features the view from the top of the stairs at the Legislature building in Fredericton. Each triangle has 14 pieces of fabric paper pieced and sewn on a curve.

Dorothy pieced and quilted this beauty!

Check out this quilting from Dorothy! WOW!

Cecile is collecting quilts for high school. This 16 patch was made while camping and used no batting. Plaid sheet for backing. It was so easy to make!

Becky also spent some time with Dianne, June, and Heather this summer making this utility bag.

A bag Janet made years ago that just so happens to fit quilts and other items when she’s on the go!

Bertha made a rolling star pattern quilt. She got the pattern from Connie Fullerton who got from Mary Ward using a brown Jelly Roll.

Kate is the first entrant in the Library contest for the year! She made this pillow from a pattern from Sewing for the Modern Home.

Joyce has a thing for dragons. This is her 4th dragon project! “Borealis, Dragon of the North Woods” will be living on the landing in her staircase.
