THE ELM CITY QUILTERS GUILD - FREDERICTON, NB

The first meeting of 2025 brought us a short but interesting meeting. First up, Andrea from the Quilting Shed visited tonight, sharing a history of her shop, gadgets she carries, a pop up shop and a great deal on an upper end sewing machine for anyone in the market. Our show & tell was brief tonight but was made up of really interesting pieces.

Lyn F. finished her "Home Town" quilt top. We have been watching (and drooling) as she worked away on this for quite a few workdays. If you love applique, this is the pattern for you. Lyn used machine applique for hers.

  Below is a close-up of Lyn's sheep.

Cecile G. brought us fancy butterflies made from handkerchiefs.

Notice the pillowcase lace Cecile added along the border

Janet M. has been very inspired by Darcy Hunter's visit earlier this year. Janet's first piece is a kit purchased during Darcy's visit.

Janet joined Making Zen (mentioned by Darcy during her presentation) and made this tree as well.

Janet also made this cute little "JOY" piece completed with hand stitching

Joyce N. brought her lovely triangle quilt that she quilted herself. A wonderful way to use pieces.

The back of Joyce's quilt - made of raw silk
