ELM CITY QUILTERS GUILD, FREDERICTON, N.B.

Last night at our March meeting we had the pleasure of being introduced to another craft - knitting gnomes - you know, those cute little mythical characters associated with Nordic culture. Heather Olmstead, a local knitter and quilter, gave us a talk on how she got started and has progressed to creating almost a whole village of the little people. Our Quilt Show committee gave us an update on the upcoming show and the meeting ended with our usual awesome show & tell.

Heather's Gnomes of the Month. Followed by Heather's gnome in a canoe complete with pet dog along for the ride

Betty V. joined the Guild in 2018. She brought her PEI quilt of well known PEI locals. She hand quilted it herself.

Dorothy J. thought she'd use up her scraps. She quilted it herself.

Elaine S. showed us her 3 yard quilt - striking!

Elaine also brought 3 wall hanging from courses she took. Left is Rocky Harbour, Nfld (Laurie Swim course). Centre is scenery (Pippa Moore course). Right is a Japanese inspired hanging (Ricky Timms workshop)

Our guest speaker, Heather, also brought show & tell. This is a double sided sew as you go runner.  This is followed by the other side of her runner.

Heather is also a pickle ball gal and showed us her pickle ball inspired bag.  Side 1 followed by Side 2.

Donna C. has just had her winter wall hanging quilted by Jennie S. Fresh off the press.

Donna also brought her Christmas placemats
Christine P., Bonnie B and Annette R. did their own 16 patch block exchange.  Below is Christine's finished quilt

And Bonnie B.'s quilt

And Annette R.'s quilt

Christine P. also brought her first rag quilt. She hasn't washed it yet to make it fluffy.  Following is the back of Christine's quilt.

Wanderer's Wife by Liz R.   A Jen Kingwell pattern.

Liz always wanted a blue quilt so made herself this Winner's Bouquet

Janet S. has a garden going with flowers on gray background

Janet used the last of her flowers as well as other scraps to create her blue garden

Kate T.'s "Paradise" wall hanging - making us all wish for warmer temps.

Kate's "Cuban Turtle". Wondering if he's swimming to "Paradise"

Gloria P. participated in Lyn F.'s "Split 9 Patch" workday using only scraps from her stash.
