Saturday 30 April 2022

We've just completed Day 2 of our mini retreat. Many thanks to Christine, Catherine and Heather for all their hard work to keep us well entertained and fed. It was an awesome time with lots of shared information, tips and tricks on top of the beautiful prizes, laughter and tons of sewing.

A project was given to each mini retreat participant. Quite a few were completed and some were almost finished.

Marlene's beautiful quilt. She used her sewing machine's decorative stitches in each block.

Marlene's Cathedral Windows - each one is stuffed to pop!

Margie's gorgeous quilt - so much work!

Karen's gray beauty - almost complete

Gloria's Halloween Panel surrounded by log cabin blocks

Bonnie's table topper - almost complete just in time for spring. So pretty!

Tickets were sold on this lovely grouping of fabrics. We all really wanted to win and Catherine was the lucky lady

Allison won her lovely springy fat quarters in a draw

Two more completed quilts for the Tiny Homes Project. The first is a sampler quilt donated by Elizabeth Fusk and the second is one completed by June G. Beautiful work and it was so kind to pass them along to the Project.

Day 1 of the Mini Retreat

We just completed day 1 of the first mini retreat since the start of Covid and what a great time! We're laughing, sewing, chatting and eating just like the old days - sort of - we are wearing a mask when on the move. Christine, Cathy and Heather came up with a sweet table runner project complete with the fabric to make it. Show and tell tomorrow. The meals have been fantastic! We've played a fun game that has us all digging deep into all the things we brought with us with awesome prizes awarded to the winners.

We all received kits for the sweet table runner below

Christine provided some more samples and told us how to make it bigger and bigger

Margie was keen to get her's started

Anita is hard at work on her quilt

The meals have been awesome.  Thanks so much to Christine, Cathy and Heather for all their hard week to make this such a fun weekend.

Game winners - Marlene, Mary and Bonnie
Congrats to all - have fun with your prizes.
