November's Program & Show and Tell

Tonight's program was a presentation by Cecile Grant on repairing antique quilts. Cecile's great sense of humor accompanied by examples of her repairs made for an informative and entertaining presentation.
Cecile's presentation was followed by Show & Tell. So much gorgeous work - kudos to all of tonight's presenters and thanks for sharing.

A velvet, corduroy and satin antique quilt

A repair and a label (see next photo) of an antique passed down.

A rescued baby quilt

New borders for a well loved quilt

A yoyo quilt with a new backing

A 50 year old quilt block - repaired and framed

June G. coloured bars pinwheels - love the colours

Gwenda M.s Halloween quilts - pumpkins and hats.  Love the themed quilting.

Line F.'s 1/2 square triangle quilt - love the 3D effect

The following 3 quilts were made by the very talented Christine B.  Christine mentioned she loves applique and it shows on the following gorgeous quilt.

Boho Heart - happy colours chosen to brighten its lockdown construction

Scrappy Stars - Christine mentioned the stars do not touch the edge so points are much easier

Annette R.'s Christmas quilt. The pattern is Stairs to the Stars and features country fabrics. Nice job, Annette.

Cecile G.'s scrappy Triple Irish Chain. So many little blocks to make such a beautiful quilt

Bertha M. always makes big quilts and she's done it again. The pattern if Sunny Lanes and the fabric is batiks - love it.

Thanks to all for bringing their quilts to show.  Happy sewing and see you next month.
