Sandra Betts is a Saint John, New Brunswick-based fiber artist and painter. Born and raised in Halifax, NS, Betts attended NSCAD, enjoyed a career as a registered nurse, then married and relocated to Saint John, where she resides to this day with her husband and family. After retiring from nursing in 1998 for medical reasons Betts’ life-long interest in the possibilities of working with fiber became a fulltime occupation/obsession!

Betts creates one-of-a-kind items from original designs. She specializes in hand-dyed fabrics embellished with hand and machine embroidery and free motion thread painting. Betts accepts commissions especially for portraits. She weaves abstracts and exotic landscapes in fabrics from around the globe – presenting them in both mounted and unframed formats.

Betts takes pride in the fact that her products are original, unique, one-of-a-kind. Hence the name for her line, Individuelle.

And we were lucky enough to have her come to our April meeting and show us her gorgeous wares!
